Ebo Town Community has a population of 70,000 (source: UNICEF), and is situated along the Brikama - Banjul highway, dividing communities of Tallinding and Jeshwang. Ebo Town community is prone to flooding during the wet season. Here families continually worry that they will loose valuable items. Terrible floods expose the community to diseases like cholera and malaria with unhygienic living conditions. Heavy rainwater flows through the community to the river affecting their environment adversely. Ebo Town community is one of the poorest communities in The Gambia.
OUR COMMUNITY WORK
Due to Covid-19 our teams haven't visited The Gambia since March 2020. Prior to this we would often walk through the community, meeting families suffering extreme hardship. We help as best we can with bedding, clothing, rice or mosquito nets. In past trips we have supplied beds, repaired broken roofs, bought wheel chairs & provided basic medical supplies for minor injuries.
We realise we can not change the situation, but we can try our best to ease lives just a little.
